Putting humanity and wellbeing at the centre of high-quality care

What does wellbeing look like in high-quality care?

Wellbeing is shaped by everyday practice, not just care plans. Qualifications, policies and training are important, but they are not what create the day to day experience and feeling. Wellbeing in care can take all sorts of forms – for example a carer choosing not to rush a visit because someone is anxious, taking time to explain what’s happening even when it’s been explained before, or noticing when someone is “not themselves” and acting on it. This is all done with patience and a feeling of calm to remove any feelings of stress or pressure for not only the individual but the carer too.

What is the Airmid difference?

For Airmid, it is all the little, everyday things that add together to create an authentic experience of caring to anyone who uses our services, as well as their loved ones. Our staff work in a culture where they see beyond the healthcare needs of individuals to see the person underneath. We don’t just do this by simply seeking to employ kind people, but by putting wellbeing in our DNA: our values, behaviours, and standards. All of this is designed to create a feeling of calm for both the individuals receiving care and for their family.

At Airmid, high clinical standards and treating individuals with compassion and humanity are not at odds with each other but are in fact inseparable, with one helping the other. We believe genuine care is delivered consistently, safely and professionally when it is enabled by a culture that places individual’s wellbeing at its centre; not just their healthcare needs.

Our carers are able to deliver consistently safe, compassionate care thanks to a strong support framework with wellbeing at the core; providing people with reassurance that their loved one is receiving care with compassion. Carers are supported by clearly visible leadership, both in terms of clinical support teams and by having 24/7 operational support if escalation and further help is needed. We create a culture where our team know who to turn to when they need advice and feel supported to deliver care with genuine compassion and kindness. Our carers don’t just tick boxes or rush through visits. They take the time needed to deliver care properly, offering people and their loved ones reassurance and peace of mind.

How we put wellbeing into everyday care

We believe that the best care is delivered by carers who are well trained to the highest clinical standards and feel completely supported to see individuals as a whole, not just someone with healthcare needs. Caring can be tough and come with a lot of pressure, but by supporting our team, we can ensure our care packages are not only delivered at the highest standard but delivered with humanity and wellbeing at the centre.

Care by design

Care delivered with compassion and professionalism does not happen by accident. It is deliberate and supported. Through our thorough vetting process, the training we provide our carers, and matching the right skills and outlook, we ensure that anyone who uses our various services has an experience where professional standards meet real human connection.

By creating a culture and framework with humanity at its core, Airmid provides care where high clinical standards and compassion support each other rather than being in conflict. We don’t see kindness as a nice to have element of the care we provide but believe it should be intrinsic. It is those countless tiny moments that create the overall feeling of safety and peace of mind that you want for you and your loved one.
