Carbon Reduction Plan

Supplier name:  Airmid Staffing Ltd

Publication date: 07/11/2024

Commitment to achieving Net Zero

Airmid Staffing Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Emissions reduction targets

In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.

We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 8 tCO2e by 2028. This is a reduction of 25%.

Carbon Reduction Projects

  • Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented since the 2023 baseline. The carbon emission reduction achieved by these schemes will work towards reducing the carbon emissions over the next 5 years. However this will be reviewed on annual basis moving forward and published on our website www.airmidstaffing.co.uk to ensure that we are on target to achieving net zero by 2050.

In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:

  • Selecting the most appropriate form of travel considering carbon emissions as well as other business factors; and only travel when necessary.
  • Cutting down the need to be office based, branch staff will be home based 90% of the time as everything Airmid staffing does operationally can be done digitally.
  • Ensuring that our buildings are operated in such a manner to optimise the use and reduce emissions through control of heat and power, with the use of LED lighting being installed in the main head office, which is part of the building owners commitment to reducing carbon emissions.
  • Reducing waste through control of packaging for bought in goods. Talking to suppliers about the need to cut down plastics used for delivery.
  • Recycling all appropriate waste such as paper, card, metals, and plastics
  • Reducing our use of plastics and encouraging refillable water bottles to be used instead of single use plastic cups or bottles.
  • Ensuring that the induction process for new starters contains information about this policy and there obligations to adhere to it.
  • Challenging behaviour of colleagues who act in a manner contrary to this policy and re-educate individuals to comply.
  • Implementing a central reporting mechanism to allow senior management to be informed about environmental issues within the organisation and achievements made in mitigating the overall environmental impact.
  • Expanding the availability and use of new technologies to allow for changes in behaviour particularly around travel, e.g. greater use of video conferencing and expanding the ‘virtualisation’ of IT systems.
  • Including in supplier selection and review criteria minimum environmental standards expected of current and future suppliers for bought-in goods and services.
  • Nominate environmental champions within the company.
  • Use environmental impact assessments (EnvIA) for the UK to identify potential increased risks of detriment to the environment and to report this as part of our ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 internal audit process.
