Healthcare Assistant – Night Shifts – Margate, Kent

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Healthcare Assistant to provide overnight care for a 14-year-old child with diabetes in their home in Margate. This role involves monitoring and managing the child’s condition throughout the night, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Job Details:

• Location: Margate, Kent

• Pay: £15 per hour PAYE | £19 per hour Umbrella

• Shift Pattern:

  • Monday & Friday: 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM (some flexibility available)

• Driver not required – easily accessible location

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage the child’s diabetes, responding to any fluctuations

• Administer medications and insulin as per care plan

• Provide overnight personal care and reassurance

• Monitor vital signs and respond to any concerns

• Ensure the child is safe, comfortable, and settled throughout the night

• Maintain clear and accurate care records

This is a home-based role, working closely with the child’s family and healthcare professionals to provide high-quality, person-centered care.

Requirements:

• Right to work in the UK

• At least 6 months of personal care experience (home care, hospital, or care home)

• Experience managing diabetes in a care setting

• DBS on update service or willingness to obtain one

• Basic Life Support and Moving/Handling training

• Two professional references
