Person-centred care and how can I get the best for my relative?

At Airmid Staffing we understand that requiring care services for a loved one can be an emotional and difficult time. That’s why we adopt an approach of person-centred care that always puts the goals, preferences, and comfort of individuals first.

Person-centred care is all about understanding that people are individuals and as such we don’t look at the care we provide with a one size fits all approach. We believe in doing the little things that make a big difference and that getting to know the lives and backgrounds of our clients is just as important as getting to know their care needs. Whether looking for personal care, palliative care, or any of the other care services we provide, we use this approach to take the time to listen to people and adapt the care package to suit them as individuals.

How do we personalise care at Airmid Staffing?

By adopting a tailor-made approach to each and every individual, we can provide the best care possible for that specific person. We draw on our many years of experience to adapt our care package and bring a sense of calm and wellbeing at what can be a very unsettling and uncertain period. We conduct an assessment led by a member of our Clinical Team and work with you to create a care package that is led by not only health needs, but also considers their ambitions and personality.

With the individual’s consent, family are also an important part of this process and we seek to offer them reassurance that their loved one will be well cared for in a way that works for everyone. Alleviating the worry you have for your loved ones, we can provide an online log of the care provided. We regularly review the care plan and if something changes, we can update that care package to ensure individuals are always receiving the care they want and is most suited to them each and every time they receive it.

At a time when it’s easy to feel a loss of control, we support people to reclaim their identity. Whether individuals want to be able to participate in a much-loved hobby or just be supported in being able to sit in the garden for a while, we work with them to deliver so much more than just the basic care package.

Airmid Carers doing what they do best.

Our experienced team of carers and nurses pride themselves on their kindness, patience and compassion. Using both our extensive experience and our motivation to do things differently, our team works to support individuals whilst still respecting their autonomy and choices. By seeing the person behind the condition or illness, our carers can really get to know them and deliver support in a way that really respects their individuality. Our personalised care is supported by clinical oversight, where our nurse led services are overseen by the Clinical Nurse Manager.

We want our carers to feel like a natural part of the home—present, supportive, and as unobtrusive as possible. To create that sense of comfort and familiarity, we carefully match each person with carers who have not only the right clinical skills, but also the right personality fit. This ensures strong, trusting relationships that feel genuine and allow support to flourish.

Louise Paul, Airmid Staffing’s Regional Manager, has over 10 years’ experience in home care and has experience of managing CQC ‘Good’ rated providers whilst striving toward an ‘Outstanding’ rating.
